Turnkey Mining Camp Accommodation Units Designed for Heavy Duty

The mining industry around the world is based on a simple, but harsh relationship: productivity relies on man, and man relies on his environment. If a project is in a remote area – the red dust of the Pilbara, the jungles of South America or the frozen tundra of Northern Europe, then the accommodation offered to the workers becomes a direct contributor to the success of the operations. Low quality housing causes attrition, turnover, safety issues, and project delays. CDPH (HAINAN) COMPANY LIMITED is well aware of this. We are a leading international construction services company, experienced in the delivery of over 4,000 large-scale projects in 100 countries, and we've got the know-how to deliver the turnkey mining camp. These units are not only prefabricated units, but also robust, long-lasting living spaces, designed to be quickly installed and future-proof. Each element from the ground up to the roof is carefully chosen and put together to endure the particular challenges of mining and to offer a decent and comfortable house for the workers. We have a worldwide presence with 13 subsidiaries and three main production bases, providing our clients with a smooth one-stop solution so they can concentrate on getting the job done and not on the logistics of providing accommodation.

Heavy-Gauge Steel Framework and Structural Integrity

The word heavy-duty does not mean that CDPH is marketing its product, it means it is their engineering requirement. The heavy gauge, galvanized steel frames for our mining accommodation units are significantly sturdier than the usual commercial or residential specifications. Our high-tensile corrosion-resistant steel has been used with thick walls, so that the structural backbone could be safely designed to withstand the vibrations, ground shifting and physical impacts of an active mining site. This solid structure will be able to withstand the stresses of regular moving when mining operations continue. Our engineers carry out strict load calculations for each project, taking into consideration snow loads, wind pressures and seismic activity that corresponds to the site location. This leads to a structure that won't bend, wobble, or collapse. This relentless commitment to structural integrity gives the mine operator the certainty that his or her employees have a safe and stable home no matter what the site's geological or meteorological conditions are.

Abrasion-Resistant Interiors and High-Traffic Finishes

Mining camps are places where a lot of people pass through. The wear and tear to interior surfaces is great, as workers march around in heavy boots, carrying equipment, moving through corridors and common areas at changes of shift. Normal finishes would be soon damaged, resulting in a sour and unprofessional atmosphere, which would ruin the morale of the workers and pose a higher maintenance cost. CDPH responds to this by requiring interior finishes to be abrasion resistant and to be selected specifically to withstand abrasion. Our flooring systems are heavy duty vinyl or industrial grade epoxy coatings that are resistant to scratching, staining and chemical damage due to tracked-in mine materials. The panels are made from impact-resistant steel or high-density composite materials that can withstand the daily wear and tear that is bound to happen. We also take advantage of commercial quality door hardware, heavy duty hinges and reinforced door frames that are fully functional even with constant use. We design interiors as robust as the people who live within them and ensure that our accommodation units look and feel as good as possible and remain hygienic throughout the project, minimising the need for regular refurbishment.

Plug-and-Play MEP Systems for Immediate Operation

Services are the lifeblood of a building! When mining camps are turnkey, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems need to be in place when units are set up. CDPH's accommodation units include fully installed and pre-commissioned MEP systems with “plug-and-play” activation. Industrial grade wiring and strong circuit protection enable our integrated electrical systems to meet the needs of today's appliances, communications devices and personal electronics. We will provide complete, code compliant plumbing systems with insulated pipes and PEX (cross linked polyethylene) plumbing which is protected against freezing and corrosive conditions in extreme climates. We use energy-saving split-system air conditioners or central HVAC (heating, ventilation, and cooling) systems that are connected and tested at our manufacturing facility. Once installed on site, our units are easy and quick to connect to the camp's water, electrical and sewage infrastructure, and the building is quickly ready to be lived in. This method helps to avoid installing any services on site which saves time and money and allows the camp to be ready for occupancy as soon as it is placed.

Expanded Module Configurations for Production Line Efficiency

Mining camps are not fixed, they change their shape and form according to project development or changes in project focus. CDPH's expanded modular options allow it to produce a range of building types on a single production line. We can stack the various base modules – single width, double width and multi-storey – into everything from single rooms, bunkhouses, through to large mess halls, medical facilities, recreation centres and offices. The basis of efficiency lies with this standardization. We have three main factories that produce modules on a continuous production line, so we have a strict quality control system, lower manufacturing costs and repeatable lead times. Meanwhile the increased configuration capability allows us not to be confined to any building type. The operator may request 200 individual sleeping units, four modules for the mess hall and a two-story administration building – all manufactured through the same production line at the same time – and delivered at the same time with the same quality, appearance and performance. The standardization of production and flexibility in configuration is the hallmark of CDPH's turnkey experience, creating high quality, heavy-duty accommodation in scale and on time.

To sum up, CDPH's heavy duty modular mining housing is a combination of engineering skill, manufacturing accuracy and operating knowledge. We offer more than buildings, we offer the foundation for a stable workforce and a successful project. By selecting CDPH, you are choosing a partner who has global capability, has a proven history and a steadfast commitment to quality. Let's construct the camp for your next mining success.
